Overview

The Pilot Projects Program is intended for investigators who:

  • are early stage investigators in environmental health sciences or;
  • are established investigators new to environmental health sciences or;
  • are established environmental health sciences investigators exploring substantially new research directions in a field relevant to environmental health sciences

Application and Awards

Each year, the Center announces a call for proposals (typically in the Fall). Any  investigator eligible to undertake sponsored research in accordance with UC Davis policy may submit a concept letter. Following initial review for relevance to research priorities of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and described in the call, selected investigators will be invited to submit a full proposal. All proposals to the EHS Center Pilot Projects Program must include a plan for community engagement and interested applicants with limited experience in community engagement in research are encouraged to seek guidance from the Community Outreach and Engagement Core at the concept letter phase in order to be competitive.
